The Mathgebra of Adventist Salvation

For those who don’t like math I apologize for the following post because it is full of math in its own way. Now before I get into Adventist Salvation Mathgebra 101 I’ll show you the Biblical formula as a baseline.

Here is Biblical Salvation:  Grace (from God)+Faith(From God) = Salvation (From God).

Grace, Faith and Salvation are all gifts from God.

In our natural state none of us are aligned to interest in God, we are all born dead in sin, our our hearts full of sin. Our Spirits our dead. Our hearts are deceitfully wicked above all things and we have no natural inclination to turn to Him. Yet God guides us to Himself through the Holy Spirit, He gives us a searching, seeking, asking, knocking heart. God promises that we will find Him if we seek for Him with all of our heart. If we are serious and willing He is equally serious and willing. He gives us faith to believe in  the Bible and what it says about Him and His plan for the Ages. Especially about Salvation. When we understand Salvation and the need to go to the Cross of Christ in faith, repenting of our sins, God gives us Grace (wholly unmerited favor), and through that another gift Salvation or eternal life.

Don’t Ignore the Twitter Feed!

Certainly they’ll be times when I post about talking to my friends and other secular things, but for the most part it will be tweeting the knowledge of God and what the Holy Spirit has mined from the Word through my studies.

You’ll find it on the right in thanks to the new theme.

Badventist? Only if you remain under the Law.

Whether or not such an App exists doesn’t matter, what does matter is that no matter how humorous this short is it points to the main problem of the Law. And that is that:

It can’t save and you can’t keep it.

It causes one to focus on what you’re doing rather that the fact that Jesus fulfilled the Law perfectly and when you’re Born Again you are putting on Christ. And through the Son the Father sees you as perfectly following God’s Law.

Galatians 3:19-27

19 Why then was the law given?   It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise was made would come. The law was put into effect through angels  by means of a mediator.  20 Now a mediator is not for just one person, but God is one.  21 Is the law therefore contrary to God’s promises? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that was able to give life, then righteousness would certainly be by the law. 22 But the Scripture has imprisoned everything under sin’s power, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23 Before this faith came, we were confined under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith was revealed. 24 The law, then, was our guardian until Christ, so that we could be justified by faith. 25 But since that faith af  has come, we are no longer under a guardian, 26 for you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ like a garment.

My Adventist friends give up trying to do the impossible and enter into the Rest that has been promised for those who are Born Again.

It’s not about what you can do but about what Christ has already done and finished, it’s simply up to you to accept it.
